Over 13 days, in 1836, 2,000 Mexican soldiers, under the personal command of the dictator of Mexico, General Santa Anna besieged the 189 Texans and Tejanos who occupied the Alamo under the command of Colonel Travis, along with Davey Crockett and Jim Bowie. In the end, the Alamo was lost but the brave defenders held fast for 13 days and decimated the Mexican troops, taking 600 lives. It’s a celebration of American bravery and the fight for Texas Independence.
